Our campaign kickoff was a huge success!

I’m so grateful to everyone who attend the campaign kickoff on Monday and helped make it a huge success. It was great to celebrate with family, friends, and neighbors. I am so thankful for the support I received from community members that want to see Tacoma continue to overcome everyday challenges with smart solutions that work for everyone. It was so encouraging to see so many engaged residents gather to show their support for my re-election campaign.

Beyond the encouraging show of support, my campaign kickoff offered a great opportunity to hear from community members about their biggest concerns for the future of our city. I spoke to many of you about challenges like better addressing crime – including property crimes – and continuing to tackle the homelessness crisis with truly compassionate solutions. From listening to community members, I know these issues are top of mind – and I am dedicated to continuing my efforts to improve public safety and implement effective homelessness policies. 

Finally, my campaign kickoff was also a time to celebrate the victories we achieved during my first term in office. While there is much more work to be done, we have a lot celebrate. From seemingly small victories like fixing potholes to bigger wins like tackling homeless encampments in our city, I’m proud of the work my team and I have accomplished. And I look forward to celebrating many more future successes. 

As I said during the kick-off, “there is nothing wrong with Tacoma that cannot be fixed by what is right with Tacoma,” and Monday night reminded of all that is right in our community. I’m ready to speak to voters and win new support – and I am so grateful to all of you for your continued support.

I also want to say a big thank you to Dean and Rebecca at Tacoma Pie for opening their restaurant to us for the event. The food was excellent, and the place was packed!
